In a previous post, I was mentioning that I wanted to find better tools to perform presentations.
Microsoft PowerPoint has always been a favorite, because it works well, and because it comes with Office. This said, Microsoft just released something called “Office Mix“, which, once downloaded, is a plugin that adds functionality to PowerPoint.
The first thing is allows you to do is record yourself while presenting your PowerPoint. This used to require a third party tool such as Camtasia and allows you to distribute your presentation as a video file instead of “just the slides”.
It also allows you to draw on the slides as you speak and add interactions such as quizzes. It also comes with a built-in method of sharing your “mixes” on the internet and the metrics to monitor the audience, quiz results…
What I will try to do with it is to record the video as I give an actual presentation. The video is stored in the PowerPoint file and if successful, I will always have a baseline for reproducing a talk I give.
Let me know what you do with the technology !
