Last week I was in Toronto for various events and had the chance, while visiting the Microsoft Store in Missisauga, to try a Surface Pro 3. It was a demo as the item is currently on preorder.
First of all, the device is gorgeous and the screen is the best I have seen in a long time. In tablet mode, the device is a bit bigger than my current tablet the Surface 2. It is also thinner. The new aspect ratio of 3×2 is appreciated and seems more functional than 16×9 devices in portrait mode.
The insides of this machine are beastly. The latest generation of Intel Core processors at decent speeds. You will also be able to choose amongst different configurations which are combinations of processor brand (i3-i5-i7) and ssd size.
The big thing with this tablet is the awesome pen, which feels good, is responsive and could almost replace paper. Combined with a good integration of OneNote and the good screen size, I will consider getting one of these to replace my current tablet… although I with it came with LTE connectivity.
The last piece which is word talking about is the keyboard. Although it is better than anything else before it, I don’t see myself writing a book on this keyboard just yet. Maybe it is possible, maybe not. I would have to try it.
Go on to the store and try one for yourself now!
