Android and UWP – a thought of convergence ?

Sometimes i dream about the future, what`s happening now ? how will things be tomorrow…

I need to do this in order to stay current.

Now here is a thought experiment – what if Android adopted .net core as it’s primary development platform. In reality, it would not take a long time to get .net core running on android, and exposing the Google Play api should prove relatively easy.

It would free Google from the headaches Java must cause them from a licensing and development point of vue, as well as benefit from from the massive .net ecosystem that exists.

The community would probably implement an emulation layer letting them deploy on UWP. Given the fact that Windows 10 will be everywhere except for phone, it’s not a big risk for Android. It would position Android as a premier technology for apps, pushing iOS in a corner.

Enterprise developers for .net would suddenly be able to target the android app consumer market.

From Microsoft’s point of view, Android apps would more easily flow to UWP and make Windows 10 more valuable.

If this could prove to be true – wouldn’t this be an interesting future ?
